iDub’s coverage of Vagkraft 2011

Vagkraft is Canada’s largest yearly VAG car show. Hundred of VW’s, Audi’s, and a whole assortment of Euro’s come out to exhibit their works of art. The guys at iDub.ca had the chance to attend this massive show again this year and it was most certainly the best one yet. Cars, Vendors, Dynoing, Auto-cross, Prizes and of course the people!

Clearly the most anticipated show of the year for most of us North of the border (asides from Go Dub’n ;P), this past weekend and perhaps this past week for some was spent scrambling trying to install those last few parts and get those finishing touches just right. With last year’s sweep of the MKV MOD1 class, the iDub guys had much to live up to – and did we ever! Taking both first and second place in both MOD1 and MOD2 classes this was iDub’s best showing to date!

But asides from the competition part of Vagkraft, there was the opportunity to meet new like-minded individuals as we did with the awesome folks at AIRSOCIETY - Jesse and Rick. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to snap any shots before they left so we’ll ninja some pics of them later on!

We were lucky enough that the weather held off for the most part and we were only graced with but a couple quick showers, which definitely kept the day in good spirits! Overall, I think the show was a tremendous success and had a great time despite being exhausted from a full day’s detailing session the night before into the wee hours the day of the event. The only downside being that our Phil wasn’t able to register at the gate, but even he had a great time just kickin’ it. It was great to see a lot of old faces as well as meet some really interesting people this past weekend, and with the show being as good as it was, we’re already looking forward to next year’s event!

The iDub winners:

Fellow iDubber Mina placed 1st in MKV MOD2 with his BMP and J's Racing Teal Works of art.

Ian's first time entering netted him 2nd place in MKV MOD2 with wheels and a drop.

My POS finished with 1st place in MKV MOD1 this year.

Justin's GTI received a well deserved 2nd place MKV MOD1.
